April 18 – Early flight to Luxor. Check into our West Bank hotel, home to archaeologists –in- residence. Today we will visit the Valley of the Queens and Village of the Artisans at Deir El Medina. We will have a private tour of the 18th dynasty Chapel of Hatshepsut and Toothsome III at Medinet Habu Temple. Dinner at local restaurant with splendid view of the temple, and the Mountain of Meretseger, “She Who Loves the Silence”. Evening free. Overnight Luxor. (B, L)
April 19 - Early morning visit to the Valley of the Kings, where we will explore the mysterious 18th dynasty tomb of Tuthmoses III, Later, we will also visit the magnificent Temple of Queen/Pharaoh Hatshepsut, who was the predecessor of Tuthmoses III and the great “builder/ initiate” of the 18th dynasty.
Lunch at local restaurant. Late afternoon felucca ride (weather permitting).

April 20 - Abydos & Dendera. We will catch the early convoy to Abydos & Dendera for a full day of exploration of these “stargate” temples dedicated to the Egyptian Mysteries. Boxed Lunch provided. Evening Free. Overnight Luxor. (B, L)
April 21 - Check out of hotel and transfer to our luxury A&K boat, the Sunboat IV, where we will be welcomed by the captain and staff. Lunch served on board.
We will meet our local Egyptian guide, who will give us a tour of Karnak and Luxor temples. Sunset tea served on the top deck. Tonight there will be a “welcome dinner and cocktail hour on board the ship. (B,L,D)
April 22 - Cruise. We view the timeless landscape of the ancient Nile as we sail south to Edfu. Sunset tea and traditional folkloric music and Nubian dancing on board tonight after dinner. (B,L,D)
April 23 – Cruise to Edfu & Kom Ombo. Today we visit one of the best preserved temples of Egypt, the Temple of Edfu dedicated to the God Horus, the son of Isis and Osiris and the God of Light. Here, the ancient library texts of Edfu were housed and the temple was originally dedicated by the “Followers of Horus” during the mythical First Time of the Gods.
Kom Ombo is the temple dedicated to the dual aspects of Horus, “ the bringer of Light” and Sobek, “the god of the dead”. Kom Ombo was used as a medical academy in Ptolemaic times, and we will see hieroglyphs depicting surgical techniques of ancient Egypt. Sunset tea and dinner on board.

April 24 - Cruise – Cruise to Aswan. Today, we arrive at Aswan, the “jewel of the Nile” and home to the Nubian culture of Egypt. We will visit the gorgeous temple of Isis at Philae, where the mysteries of Isis and Osiris where taught well into Roman times. We will also visit the Aswan High Dam, one of the architectural wonders of modern Egypt. Farewell dinner on board.

April 25 - Aswan – Cairo. Today we check out of the Sunboat IV and transfer to Aswan airport for our flight to Cairo.
